Hidden Potential
About Hidden Brewery
The Hidden Brewery was setup in March 2003 by Gary Lumber and his business partner Michael Woodhouse.  During the course of 2006 /07, the brewery has seen rapid expansion in sales and is now supplying to over 1000 pubs and clubs throughout the southwest.

The brewery’s initial products were Old Sarum and Hidden Quest, both of which have developed an enthusiastic following throughout the region and continue to produce significant sales volume. The core range has now increased with five ales being regulalry available and complemented with a number of seasonal beers.

The Awards won by The Hidden Brewery are listed within this site.
The brewery currently operates a 30 barrel plant and has now commenced the installation of the first pair of eight planned 37 barrel conical bottomed fermenters, increasing capacity to 650 firkins per week to meet demand.

Further growth in both the home and exports markets is planned with the installation of a bottling line to produce both bottle-conditioned for the home market and carbonated ales for export.

Pubs

The Bell Inn Wylye

The Hidden Brewery took over the Bell Inn Wylye in October 2005.  The Bell has gone from strength to strength, regaining it's position as a focal point for the village.

Cornubia, Bristol

Purchased and opened on the 1st December 2006, The Cornubia has been actively supported by many of its original locals including Bristol Camra who are regarded as one of the most active regional groups in the organisation. The Pub intends to introduce a two level menu. One is for the Bar and will provide locally sourced meals at competitive prices. The second will be a menu for the Business customer who, whilst restricted for time, wants a more secluded environment this being provided by the first floor dining rooms.

The Kings Arms, Thornford
The Hidden Brewery bought the well-loved King’s Arms pub in Thornford, Dorset in October 2007.  The King’s Arms has been at the heart of the Thornford community since 1902 and was re-opened on 9 November, after nearly a month of uncertainty about its future.

Our aim is to maintain the strong standing this pub has in its close knit community.  We are keen to reinstate the warm, welcoming atmosphere at the King’s Arms.  By adding good food and, of course, a wide variety of quality real ales, we hope to create a pub which will continue to be at the hub of the Thornford community for many years to come!

The Chough, Salisbury
The Chough is The Hidden Brewery’s newest and largest pub, which was acquired in December 2007.  There are lots of plans for menus, music, clubs, entertainment, WiFi facilities and of course…real ale!  We will be having a launch event once the refurbishment is complete and are very much looking forward to raising a pint with locals, regulars and visitors to Salisbury.

The Chough is situated in the market square of the historic town of Salisbury and parts of the building date back to the 1300's when it was an old coaching house.  It became an Inn during the 16th century and many of the traditional features have been retained, which gives the interior its character and warm, welcoming atmosphere.  The Hidden Brewery’s team plans to use the space inside and outside of The Chough to create a variety of different areas to suit different customers and times of day.  One of the main evening themes at The Chough will be to host live music including jazz, blues, folk and rock.
